A whole lot of warmth packed into 3.4 oz (Size XS). Theresa just bought one of these recently and she absolutely loves it. It is implausibly light and kept her toasty warm as the temperatures dropped. I think this will quite possibly be her most worn article of clothing, and she may be able to eliminate her other fleece sweater over time.
It's made of 850+ Fill Power Goose Down, has reflective edging and an ultra-light shell.
Available from Backcountry Gear for $125.
This looks a good item…do you know if it is one of the lighest?
How do you find the vest compared to a jacket? I guess you could wear it under a light jacket and waterproof?
andy – yeah it’s pretty darn light. i haven’t found anything lighter yet. generally i find if i can keep my core warm, i’m all good – so haven’t missed the sleeves. theresa has this WM jacket, i have the cocoon – which is heavier, but synthetic fill – so i can replace a heaver fleece with it and have better warmth in all conditions.
